While staking our tents is always preferred, tent weights may be required when staking is not possible due to ground conditions, underground utilities, or when tents are being set on pavement that we are not able to drill through. We always try to maximize the potential staking options first before we start looking at or suggesting weighting options. We offer weighting in 3 ways. Traditional 55 gallon water barrels style weights (ours are white) which we cover with cloth making them useful as an extra small “table” for setting drinks or flowers (as seen in the picture). Smaller cement weights may also be used when barrels are not appropriate for sightlines or if water is not available on site. Lastly some situations call for larger 275 gallon 4’x4’x4′ weights, which can again be covered if needed; this heavier option may be required for longer term installations or if the site poses specific weather hazards. Most alternative staking methods are generally only available for frame tents. Weighting can be arranged for pole style tenting however it can often be cost prohibitive.
