Wallpaper removal can be a nasty job….. a steamer can help ease the pain! Wallpaper steamers work with just steam (no added chemicals of vinegar please!) to get behind the paper and loosen the glue so paper can be scraped off the wall. We’ll give you two sizes of paddles if you wish, one to get into smaller spaces around windows and doors, another to steam larger open wall areas. If you are working with a vinyl covered wallpaper, you’ll want to run a paper tiger or wall performator over the area first to make holes for the steam to penetrate. If you’ve got a “paper” wallpaper, you’re good to go.
Please remember…. if the walls weren’t properly sized before papering, it may be difficult to remove the wallpaper, especially if it was placed directly on wallboard. Before you get involved with chemicals and other methods of removal, give this a try! Most people find great success with this method, and by the time you pay for all those extra chemicals and strippers, this eco-friendly option will have the job done for you at a reasonable cost!
